About Us:

Maria E. Gangarosa-Emerson, PhD, OMC Certified
Dr. Gangarosa-Emerson completed her masters’ degree in Adult Neuropsychology at Drexel University while training in the Brain-Behavior Laboratory at the Hospital for the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, she earned her Nouthetic counseling certificate, working with adults through the Atlanta Biblical Counseling Center.  For the next eight years, she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery at the Medical College of Georgia (assessing infants, toddlers, & children) while simultaneously obtaining a PhD with an emphasis in Child Neuropsychology and a certificate in Marriage & Family Counseling at the University of Georgia. While in her PhD program at the University of Georgia, she worked with parents, children, and adolescents in various clinics at the University of Georgia, Emory University, and the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her internship in Clinical Psychology at the Allegheny University of the Health Sciences performing assessments and therapy with children, parents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  She completed two additional  years as a post-doctoral fellow in Neuropsychology at MCP Hahneman University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.  For the past several years, she has been interested in and developing a neurofeedback program to augment therapy, completed a certification in the Othmer Method (2019), worked as a consultant for Neonatology the Children's Medical Center (2018-2023), and obtained a Clinical Assistant Professorship through Neurology at Wellstar / Augusta University (2024). She has over twenty-five years of experience serving individuals in an assessment and  therapeutic context.


Melissa Perkins, PsyD
Dr. Perkins has an MS in School Psychology (2017) from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. She graduated with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2023) from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Perkins completed her Clinical Internship at Avondale Elementary School District in Arizona and her master’s internship at Southeast Delco School District in Sharon Hill, PA. She also completed several Doctoral practicums at 1) Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in PA administering neuropsychological assessments to children with stroke, cardiac complications, genetic disorders, autism, & anxiety, 2) RSM Psychology Center, LLC in Princeton, NJ completing comprehensive neuropsychological / psychological evaluations for children & adults with learning disability, ADHD, autism, TBI, stroke, dementia, anxiety disorders, & depression, 3) Elwyn, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA providing individual counseling to those with  ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, schizoaffective disorder, anxiety disorders, intellectual delays, & schizophrenia & 4) AAA Neuropsychology LLC in Malvern, PA administering evaluations for older adolescents & adults with stroke, TBI, dementia, intellectual delays, anxiety, & depression.


 


Payton Tiberi, BS, AAS, COTA/L, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Payton Tiberi completed a Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy at Augusta Technical College in 2023. While in her program, she completed several field work experiences in 2023: 1) at Limtech assessing mobility needs for a wide variety of clients; 2) at Augusta University Medical Care – Acute Care Center evaluating, treating, and providing family education in occupational therapy for patients; 3) at Peer Recovery & Respite Center – Mental Health, providing group activities for clients with mental health issues; and 4) Walton Rehabilitation Hospital – Inpatient Rehabilitation creating treatment plans & providing hands-on care for inpatients. She also completed a volunteer position educating middle school children about experiences in occupational therapy. She completed her BS in Mathematics & Psychology at Augusta University in 2019. She has been working at CNC since June 2024.


Carly Holmes, BS, Psychology, OMC Certified, Neurofeedback Head Technician
Carly Holmes graduated from SUNY in upstate New York with a BS degree in psychology. She has a passion for children and teenagers. She has completed her two year certification in Neurofeedback, Othmer Method. She has been working at CNC since February 2019.
